Loch Haven Park is nestled between three lakes, and is home to several museums of both the arts and sciences. It covers an expansive 45 acres and serves as Central Florida's premier cultural park.
The park was recently renovated to attract more people to its multiple museums and theatre groups and is a fantastic place to picnic under a large oak tree on a lazy afternoon and enjoy one of the sparkling lakes on the property. One of Central Florida's largest oak trees, "The Mayor," resides in this park near The Mennello Museum of American Art.
A biking and hiking trail surrounds beautiful Lake Formosa. Take in pieces from the Musuem's extensive sculpture garden as you stroll or ride by.
After enjoying The Mennello Museum, stroll across the street and take in the Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando Science Center, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre or Orlando Repertory Theatre. All offer programs throughout the year.
Central Florida's Red Chair Project is offering a "Loch Haven Cultural Pass". The pass gives you access to the Orlando Museum of Art, the Orlando Science Center and The Mennello Museum of Art. Click here to find out more about details and pricing.
Loch Haven Park and it's encompassing theaters, musuems and grounds are also a nice getaway for those visiting neighboring Florida Hospital South or the Ronald McDonald House. |
