Senator Mel MartinezAn Evening with Fabulous Friends
Red,White, and Blue Gala 2009

The 6th Annual Gala, organized by the Friends of the Mennello Museum, Art Events Council, was held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Lakes. The event honored Senator Mel Martinez for his many contributions to the quality of life within the State of Florida and the United States. Attended by more than 350 guests, the event featured entertainment presented by Walt Disney World amid a ballroom decorated with a patriotic flair.

The Honorable Marilyn Logsdon Mennello Visionary Award was presented to Lockheed Martin for the support that they have shown not only with this Museum, but with many organizations in Central Florida. Lockheed Martin was a major sponsor of the exhibit created by the Smithsonian American Art Museum that featured the paintings of Earl Cunningham.

Museum founder Michael A. Mennello and Friends Board President John Rigsby, presented the award to Dale Bennett, President and Ron Abbott, Executive Vice President.
